The exact cost you need to take into account depends on several factors. Think here, among other things, of the type of driver's license you wish to obtain as well as the fact whether, for example, an interpreter is needed or not. What costs you exactly need to take into account for the theory exam will become clear after going through the information on this page.
First of all, for what concerns the cost of the theory exam, account must be taken of the type of driver's license you wish to obtain. For a driver's license category AM, A, B and G, the lowest price of 15 euros is charged at a GOCA exam center. If you wish to choose to obtain a driver's license with category C or D, the price is slightly higher at 17 euros. When you've passed the theory exam the first time right away, the costs for the actual exam thus remain very limited. If you have to take the test multiple times, these can of course increase somewhat.
Unfortunately, not everyone simply has the possibility to participate in the ordinary, theoretical exam for obtaining the driver's license. Various reasons can be at the basis of this. In the majority of cases, however, it concerns structural learning, reading and/or writing problems. It goes without saying that these people must also have the possibility to obtain the driver's license. For this reason, a special session is organized for them. Before you have the possibility to participate in such a session, the candidate must present a special certificate. This certificate is unfortunately also not the only condition for taking the theory exam in this way. All extra efforts that need to be made for this are of course also accompanied by extra costs. The additional fee for a theory exam in special session for driver's licenses AM, A, B and G amounts to 50 euros. In the case of a driver's license C and D, there's an additional fee of 86 euros.
It's possible that the driving school of your choice charges a certain surcharge when they have to schedule the theory exam for you. This is by no means the case with every driving school, but when you want to be sure that you don't run into extra costs, it can always be interesting to book the theory exam yourself. Search via the internet which exam centers can be found near you, pick up the phone and schedule yourself when you wish to take the theoretical exam. This is not only the most efficient and simplest for both parties, this way possible extra costs are also prevented with certainty.
The costs of the theory exam are the same at all driving schools. This is because they're determined by the Belgian government and exam centers may not deviate from this. This applies not only to driver's license B, but also to possible other driver's licenses you wish to obtain. Are there multiple exam centers in your area that you can choose from? In that case, you don't need to take into account a possible difference in cost price.
